ADD was participating in the 15th CIGRE – CIRED conference in Laško, which was taken place between 19th and 20th October 2021. This is the main event of the Slovenian power industry in 2021. Director of the business solutions department at ADD, Marko Škufca and Blaž Hafnar frrom Elektro Gorenjska d.d. introduced themselves with a lecture Unification of Measurement Data for Analytical and Reporting Purposes. There were presented examples of good practices for building solutions for business and data analytics.
Simplify execution of analytical scenarios
Distribution companies use many different data sources for regular reporting and day-to-day analytics. Information systems, the data sources, collect measurements at various levels of the grid (substation, transformer, measurement place etc.). Each system collects and stores measurements to the database at different time frequencies and units of measure. At the same time each system handles data access and presentation in its own way. But at the end each day more or less of all this data is combined and compared for each individual report or analysis. So, can we implement a predefined analytical model and simplify execution of such scenarios since the logic and rules to combine data are known?
In the project of implementation of Business Intelligence solution at Elektro Gorenjska d.d. and ADD d.o.o., tackled the unification of measurement data collected in SCADA system, system for grid operating diagnostics system for collection of smart metering data. Our goal is not only to implement a modern solution upon verified data source, but also to simplify the reporting and analytical scenarios by unifying data from various data sources. By building the unified data warehouse we are stretching the ability of data comparison also across operational and business domains.
